This site is about the philanthropic endeavors of David Bershad. For example, the David Bershad Family Foundation, his position as Principal of the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, the Professorship in Hunter’s Department of Art History, the ReLeSe program, etc. Bershad was one of the first to participate in the Hunter’s Mother’s Day Scholarship (mentoring and supporting students who would not be able to afford college) too.
Other recipients of Bershad’s generous funding behind the scenes include: Columbia Law School, the Cornell University Scholarship Fund, contributions for “America’s Camp” (free camp for kids who lost a parent or sibling in 9/11), scholarship funds and programs at the Montclair Kimberley Academy, Montclair Township, the Montclair Art Museum and the Montclair Public Library (which provided the resources for the building of a public café for community gatherings that does not bear the Bershad name, just a dedication in memory of his niece Isabel Rose).
Overall, David’s philanthropic contributions have totaled more than $3 million.
